Listen, folks, life has a way of surprising us even after we think the chapter is closed. Alan Hamel, the widower of the late Suzanne Somers, is sharing some incredible stories that’ll make you stop and think. Even though Suzanne left this world last year, Alan says her spirit is still very much around him, paying visits that feel straight out of a sci-fi movie. Let me break it down for you.
Alan, now 88 years old and a seasoned TV producer, tells a story so vivid it’ll give you chills. "One day, I'm in the kitchen with my family, and all of a sudden, Suzanne’s favorite song comes blasting through the audio system," he says. Here's the kicker: "The audio system wasn’t even turned on!"
He goes on to describe the song—it’s a Latin tune they used to dance to in the kitchen. "It just came on all by itself. And when it was over, that was it. The audio system stayed off," Alan shares. This wasn’t just a one-off occurrence, though. Ghostly happenings have become a part of Alan’s life since Suzanne’s passing.

When the Hummingbird Visits
Back in January, about three months after Suzanne’s tragic death from breast cancer, Alan had another eerie experience. A hummingbird flew into their house, making its way through the kitchen, living room, and dining room. "It hovered right in front of a framed picture of me and Suzanne," he recalls with a mix of awe and sadness.
But the story doesn’t end there. A few weeks later, Alan opened all the doors and windows, and guess what? The same hummingbird returned. "They all have very distinctive colorings," he explains. "I walked over and extended my hands, and the hummingbird just jumped right into them. It tucked in its little feet. All I felt was its belly. It felt safe," Alan says, his voice filled with emotion.

The Presence That Lingers
Alan says he feels Suzanne’s presence in other ways too. "When I go to bed at night, I can sense her palpable energy," he shares. These experiences have only strengthened his belief in the afterlife. "We discard the body, but we still have a soul," he explains. "The soul is pure energy, and I truly believe it finds a dimension or a plane that we simply don’t understand yet."
Alan is unwavering in his convictions. "I absolutely believe there is an afterlife. I do believe that when my time comes, Suzanne will be waiting for me," he says with quiet certainty. These beliefs were something he and Suzanne discussed before her passing in October at the age of 76.
A Shared Belief in the Spiritual
"We were both very spiritual individuals, and we both believed in a higher power," Alan reflects. He acknowledges that some might think he’s "a little off the wall," but he chooses to embrace these beliefs wholeheartedly. "It’s not just about faith; it’s about the love that transcends even the vow of 'till death do us part,'" he adds.
A source close to Alan tells us, "He’s convinced Suzanne’s spirit is still with him in their home, and she’ll remain by his side until they’re reunited in the great beyond." It’s a touching testament to a love that truly knows no bounds.
