Hey there! The View has officially returned from its annual spring break hiatus, but while the hosts were enjoying their well-deserved time off, fans had plenty to say about the show’s absence. It turns out, the audience missed their favorite daytime talk show more than they might’ve expected.
Executive Producer Brian Teta Weighs In
“People were very upset we weren’t on the air for a week, and this happens every single year,” said executive producer Brian Teta during an episode of the show’s “Behind the Table” podcast, aired on Monday, April 29. He went on to explain, “Our viewers truly believe, deep down in their bones, that we should be working 365 days a year. They just can’t get enough of us, I guess!”
Sara Haines Shares Her Thoughts
Brian then turned to cohost Sara Haines, asking for her take on the discourse surrounding the spring break hiatus. “I disagree with that perspective,” Sara responded firmly. “When you step back and look at it, taking a break is actually one of the most important things we can do. It’s not just about recharging; it’s about appreciating the work we do and the lives we lead. These moments away remind us why we work so hard in the first place.”

She continued, “When I came back from my break, I realized something crucial: when you’re out of work, it gives you a chance to reflect on why you work. It’s a reminder of how important these experiences are, both personally and professionally. These breaks allow us to come back refreshed and ready to tackle whatever comes next.”
Brian nodded in agreement. “Absolutely. We come back refreshed in so many ways, and it helps the show in the long run. But what people don’t always realize is that these breaks are planned months, sometimes even a year, in advance. No matter what, when we’re off the air, crazy things happen in the world, and it seems like the timing never works out perfectly.”
Fans React to Reruns During Big News Weeks
One fan took to X to express their frustration, writing, “When do we get new episodes? There’s so much going on in the world for them to be showing repeats. #TheView.” Brian addressed this comment directly, explaining, “We planned this hiatus about a year ago. The reality is, no matter how much we try to anticipate what’s happening in the world, unexpected events always seem to pop up. It’s inevitable, and it’s kind of Murphy’s Law.”
A Look at Sara’s Spring Break Adventure
While The View aired reruns during its annual spring break hiatus, Sara Haines and her husband, Max Shifrin, took a much-needed getaway to Turks and Caicos. Unfortunately, their kids—Alec, Sandra, and Caleb—couldn’t join them due to conflicting school schedules.
“The two youngest kids have one spring break schedule, Alec has another, and then Max and I have our own,” Sara explained. “Last year was the first time we managed to get away for a few days on our own. It was amazing, but I always wish there was a way to make it happen more often. It’s such a rare treat to have that kind of time together without the kids.”

Despite the challenges of coordinating family vacations, Sara remains hopeful about finding more opportunities to reconnect with her husband. “It’s not easy, but those moments together are invaluable,” she reflected.

Why The View Stands Out
Brian Teta also pointed out that The View is actually on the air more than most daytime talk shows. “We’re committed to bringing our viewers the best content possible, even if it means taking a well-planned hiatus once a year,” he emphasized. “Our goal is always to balance the demands of the show with the personal lives of our hosts and crew. It’s not just about the show—it’s about the people who make it happen.”
