Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager Join the Conversation
When it comes to concerts, everyone has an opinion. Hoda Kotb, 59, and Jenna Bush Hager, 42, recently chimed in on the ongoing debate about whether artists should perform for three hours or more. The conversation took place on Today With Hoda & Jenna following a candid statement from Billie Eilish, who made it clear that she’s not down for marathon shows.
Billie Eilish Speaks Up
During a Q&A on the Stationhead app, the 22-year-old pop sensation Billie Eilish set the record straight. “I’m not doing a three-hour show,” she declared. “Nobody wants that. You guys don’t want that. I don’t want that. And let’s be honest, as a fan, I wouldn’t want it either. Even if it’s my favorite artist in the world, I don’t want to sit through three hours of music.” Billie’s honesty resonated with fans and sparked a lively discussion about concert lengths.
Hoda Agrees Wholeheartedly
Hoda Kotb, a longtime broadcaster, couldn’t agree more with Billie. “I think a three-hour concert is just way too long,” she said. “I mean, who has the patience for that? Artists often save their best songs for the end, and by then, you’re exhausted. You’re just waiting, waiting, waiting for that one big hit, and it can be frustrating.” Hoda went on to explain that concerts should be about quality, not quantity. “Why make people sit through filler material when they’re there for the hits?” she added.

Jenna Weighs In
Jenna Bush Hager, the former first daughter, also jumped into the conversation. “Three hours is a long time—whether you’re at a concert or doing just about anything else,” she noted. Despite her stance, Jenna admitted that she had an amazing time at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour last year, which she attended with her daughters, Mila and Poppy. “It was so much fun,” she recalled. “We prepared by listening to the playlist beforehand, so the girls could sing along to almost every song. We danced like crazy, and even though it was Poppy’s first concert, she stayed until the end and loved every minute of it.”

Jenna admitted she was sore after the concert but had an unforgettable experience. “I wasn’t even performing, and I was like, ‘How does Taylor do this?’” she said, reflecting on the energy and stamina required for such a performance. “When you think about what she does, it’s truly mind-blowing.”
Hoda’s Taylor Swift Experience
Hoda Kotb, known for her love of music, attended the Eras tour in May 2023 with her friends. She even shared her excitement on Instagram, posting selfies from the event. The author of Hope Is a Rainbow later revealed that her daughters, Haley and Hope, are also huge Taylor Swift fans. “My kids are completely hooked,” she said. “They were watching Taylor’s concert film, singing along, dancing, and completely mesmerized. It’s amazing how music can capture the hearts of people of all ages.”
